UK Knitting Extravaganza !

From the Facebook page of Steetcolor Art.  A knitting extravaganza in the UK.  To quote the site:

“Yarnbombing teaches us to think really big – why not knit a house – a real house ? This house was knitted by Knitting Site for The London Architecture Biennale in June 2006. It was knitted on site with all recycled materials , plastic , garbage bags , rope. ”

Very cool !

Everyone loves………

A bargain…. especially the unexpected ones……….such as this:

This little beauty is a huge spool of silky soft crochet thread.  I found this in a local thrift store.  These poor people did not know the value of this because it had a $2.00 sticker on it.

I felt a bit guilty…it is a charitable thrift store…so when I got to the counter I said…do you know what this is actually worth?  They looked at me with a quizzical look…..um…well…no.  I said…well in the future I’d put a higher tag on it. 🙂 I tried to give them more but they would only take $2.oo…oh well….. 😉

It pays to nose in your local thrift shops !   I can’t wait to find a good project for this beautiful spool………

Cover me….

With crochet thread !!!  Check out these two ideas I saw…..

First of all :

Heart Covered Soap by Red Heart made with Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread.  I really like this idea…would make a great gift along with some handmade washcloths and such…..

Secondly:

I came across this picture…stones covered in crochet motifs in a cool looking wooden door frame.    What an awesome idea………

As you can see, I am in a “get inspired” mode…. 😉
